If we built you a website without being asked

We used only information your organisation has already made public: your current website, public registers such as the Charity Commission's, and printed material you've published. We contact organisations that the law lets us contact without prior consent (companies and charitable incorporated organisations), at the address the organisation publishes. Our reason is a legitimate interest in offering a service we think is useful; you can object at any time, and the "No thank you" button on your preview does exactly that: the site comes down and we don't write again.

If you asked us for a website

We keep the details you gave us (organisation, website, email) to build it and reply to you. If we decide we can't help, we tell you and delete the request within 90 days.

When you look at a website we've built

We record that the link was opened, which pages were viewed and when, and any message or choice you make, so we know what to do next and so Giles can reply properly. We set one cookie, to keep you signed in for 30 days. There's no advertising, no tracking across other sites, and no third-party analytics on the preview.

If you buy

Payments are taken by Stripe; we never see your card details. We keep invoices and payment records for six years because tax law requires it. On the looked-after plan we host your site and hold its content for as long as you're a customer, and hand it all back when you leave.

Who else sees it

Cloudflare (hosting, UK/EU), Resend (sending our email, EU), Stripe (payments). Nobody else, and we don't sell or share lists.

Your rights, and how to reach us

You can ask what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, or object to us contacting you, by emailing hello@readyandwaiting.co.uk. We answer within a week. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk.
